IDI Media Monitoring For Parliamentary Elections - Second Report
The monitoring period covers the period from January 17, 2020, which was the start date of the election campaign, to February 6, 2020.
The monitoring included 9 media, including 3 televisions. State broadcasting (AzTV), public broadcasting (ITV), and Real TV, which received the latest licenses and was claimed to be specialized in broadcasting, as well as the official news agency – Azertac (www.azertag.az), the official body of the Milli Majlis – Azerbaijan newspaper and its official website, official website of Report News Agency(report.az), the website of Turan News Agency(www.turan.az), the website of Meydan TV(www.meydan.tv) and the internet resource of the Azadlig newspaper (azadliq.org), which is close to the opposition, have been monitored.
In these resources, the information that could be associated with the electoral process was recorded by the number of articles and were classified according to the nature of the information.
During the 21 days monitored, prime-time covered a total of 252 hours for 3 TVs (21 days x 3 TV x 4 hours per day). During the 252-hour prime-time period, news programs, news derivation programs, debates, discussion programs, and final analytical programs related to the electoral process were evaluated.
